CARSOME Academy Marks 5 Years with more than RM2 Million in Support to Build Malaysia’s Automotive Talent

Selangor State Government to continue supporting CARSOME Academy with more than RM350,000 in scholarships for Asnaf and B40 students.
Partnerships with Maybank Islamic Berhad and JETOUR Automobile Malaysia connect automotive training with industry experience and employment opportunities.
The Academy launches two new TVET programmes, the first known industry-led programmes of their kind in Malaysia, combining automotive sales expertise with nationally recognised SKM certification.

Kuala Lumpur, 24 September 2026 – CARSOME Academy marked its fifth anniversary with more than RM2 million in combined financial support, scholarships and development funding, alongside new partnerships and programmes aimed at preparing Malaysians for careers across the automotive industry.

The milestone brings together support from the Selangor State Government, Maybank Islamic Berhad and industry partner JETOUR Automobile Malaysia, expanding opportunities for Malaysians to gain industry-relevant skills, practical experiences, and access to careers in the automotive industry.

The RM1.65 million Accelerate with TVET Programme, anchored by Maybank Islamic Berhad with matching contributions from Bank Negara Malaysia, CARSOME Academy and Etiqa General Takaful, will support greater access to industry-relevant TVET education for aspiring automotive talent.

More than RM2 Million to Accelerate TVET and Talent Opportunities

The RM1.65 million Accelerate with TVET Programme, anchored by Maybank Islamic Berhad, alongside matching contributions from Bank Negara Malaysia, CARSOME Academy and Etiqa General Takaful, will provide greater access to industry-relevant technical and vocational education and training.

This is further supported by more than RM350,000 in scholarships from the Selangor State Government through IKTISASS and Yayasan MBI, benefiting Asnaf and B40 students from Selangor.

Speaking at the Academy’s fifth anniversary celebration, Yang Berhormat Tuan Mohd Najwan Bin Halimi, Selangor State Exco for Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneurship, said the Selangor Government would continue to support CARSOME Academy as a homegrown company contributing to the state’s automotive talent and economic development.

“Selangor will continue to stand with CARSOME Academy. As a company that was born in Selangor, headquartered in Petaling Jaya and committed to training young people in the automotive sector, CARSOME Academy is an important partner in developing the talent that contributes to our state’s economy. The Selangor State Government looks forward to expanding this collaboration,” he said.

CARSOME Group is also contributing an additional RM150,000 towards scholarships, with other funding and development commitments bringing the Academy’s total support to more than RM2 million.

JETOUR Partnership Expands Industry Pathways

Complementing the TVET initiative, CARSOME Academy has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JETOUR Automobile Malaysia to create work placement and practical job opportunities for its students and graduates across various areas of the industry, including vehicle inspection, sales, and aftersales.

Through the partnership, CARSOME Academy and JETOUR will work together to structure and develop trainee programmes that give learners hands-on industry experience and opportunities to build their technical skills in real-world automotive settings.

Five Years of Impact and The Road Ahead

Since 2021, 593 students have registered with CARSOME Academy, with 90% securing employment within three months. The Academy has also trained more than 8,000 employees, developed more than 500 leaders and supported 280 scholarship recipients.

Building on this foundation, the Academy is growing its role across the automotive ecosystem through five key pillars spanning vehicle inspection, TVET, corporate training, talent and job matching, and industry partnerships.

This includes two new automotive sales TVET programmes, Certified Sales Professional and Certified Sales Excellence, the first known industry-led TVET programmes of their kind in Malaysia, combining practical automotive sales expertise with nationally recognised SKM certification.

“Five years on, the impact of CARSOME Academy is clear, from building technical capabilities to creating real opportunities for employment.
