Press Release: CARSOME Autofair 2025 Kicks Off with Unveiling of Official FAM Fleet

Petaling Jaya, 22 May 2025 –CARSOME, the Official Automotive Partner of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), today officially handed over 15 vehicles decked in CARSOME and FAM liveries to support the association’s operational and logistical needs.
The 15-vehicle fleet includes the Proton X90, Proton X70, Mazda CX-5, Nissan Serena, BMW 3 Series, Volvo XC40, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Toyota Alphard. These vehicles will serve the men’s and women’s national teams, as well as FAM’s management, ensuring safe and comfortable travel throughout the football calendar.
Held at CARSOME Automall, the handover also marked the start of CARSOME Autofair 2025, a four-day event from 22 to 25 May featuring exclusive deals, on-ground activities, and community engagement opportunities for customers and football fans.
The event was graced by FAM President, Datuk Mohd Joehari Mohd Ayub, Tuan Jefri bin Ngadirin, Director General of the National Sports Council, alongside national football legend Dato’ Zainal Abidin Hassan, who currently serves as Exco Member. Their presence reflected strong and united support for the continued development of Malaysian football.
In his speech during the event, CARSOME Group Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Eric Cheng spoke about working with FAM to contribute to the future of national players beyond the pitch. He highlighted CARSOME’s ongoing collaboration with FAM through CARSOME Academy as part of a broader effort to support long-term personal and professional development for players and staff.

“The handover of these vehicles marks an important step in our partnership with FAM, providing the national teams with the mobility and support they need throughout the football calendar. As part of our commitment, we also want to help players, both men and women, prepare for life beyond the pitch. Through CARSOME Academy, we are opening up education and career opportunities in the automotive industry, which contributes 5 percent or RM82 billion to Malaysia’s GDP and supports over 700,000 jobs across the country. We are working with FAM to determine the courses and assistance required and hope this effort creates meaningful pathways for the football community to grow within a thriving sector,” said Cheng.
The President of FAM, Datuk Mohd Joehari Mohd Ayub, hopes that the collaboration with CARSOME will drive more success for Malaysian football, especially for the national team.
"The official collaboration between FAM and CARSOME began on March 25, the same day the national team secured a victory over Nepal in the opening match of the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers in Johor.
"This marks a positive start, and I hope that the partnership between FAM and CARSOME will continue to bring more success to Malaysian football in the years ahead.
"We are excited to work with CARSOME over the next two years and are grateful to have a trusted partner like them," he said.

During the Autofair, Malaysian football fans will also have a chance to meet National Team Players during a special meet and greet session on the 24th May 2025.
