CARSOME Volunteers Give Zoo Negara’s Reptile House a Makeover

Kuala Lumpur, 27 August 2025 – The reptiles at Zoo Negara got a home makeover recently, thanks to 28 CARSOME volunteers who turned the Reptile House into their weekend project. From scrubbing and polishing to weeding and pruning, the team worked together to bring back some shine to a space that had been affected by floods.

Guided by the zoo’s staff, our volunteers spent the day cleaning tables and chairs, wiping down glass panels, and sprucing up the surrounding outdoor areas. The teamwork and laughter kept spirits high, and by the end of the day the group left a visible difference behind.

The project was not only about tidying up. It also helped create a safer, brighter habitat for the reptiles and a more welcoming experience for visitors. Seeing the Reptile House transform by the end of the day was a proud moment for all involved, showing that small actions can deliver meaningful results.

For our volunteers, the day was also a refreshing break from routine. Stepping out of the office and into hands-on contribution, they walked away knowing they had made an impact on conservation, together.
