CARSOME Celebrates International Women’s Day with Empowerment Initiatives

Kuala Lumpur, 14 March 2024 –  As part of a month-long celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD), CARSOME launched a series of initiatives aimed at empowering women both within the company and in the wider community. The campaign focused on breaking down barriers and highlighting the potential of women across various aspects of life.

Throughout the month, CARSOME collaborated with women-driven organizations and hosted programs to uplift women’s voices and capabilities. Some of the key initiatives included:

Supporting Women-Driven NGOs:
In partnership with Kloth Malaysia, a women-led non-profit organization, CARSOME supported sustainability efforts through a clothing donation drive. After being collected, the clothes were transported to a fabric recycling factory, where they were sorted and graded based on its condition, ensuring proper reuse or recycling.

Honoring CARSOME’s Women:
In a symbolic gesture, yellow roses were given to all women employees to recognize their contributions and celebrate their achievements both professionally and personally. Yellow roses are often associated with friendship, joy, and respect, making them a fitting tribute to the women in the workplace. This act highlights the importance of acknowledging the vital roles women play at CARSOME and the company’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.

EmpowerHER Forum:
A key highlight of the campaign was the EmpowerHER Forum, a thought-provoking panel discussion on “Stop Limiting Yourself.” The forum featured inspiring speakers such as Mohd Afifi, Senior Director of People & Culture, Melissa Ng, Director of Operations at CARSOME, and Rupa Sivanoli from Talent Tribe Solutions. The discussion tackled the challenges women face in their careers, education, and personal growth, offering insights and encouragement to break through limitations.

CARSOME Bootcamp: Car Care 101:
CARSOME also partnered with CARSOME Academy to host a “Car Care 101” bootcamp, an educational outreach program aimed at equipping women and students with essential car maintenance knowledge. This hands-on initiative empowered participants with practical skills to confidently handle basic car care, further promoting self-sufficiency.

The IWD campaign was a celebration of gender equality, bringing attention to the importance of supporting women-led initiatives, fostering recognition, and offering opportunities for learning and empowerment.
