Kuala Lumpur, 28 August 2026 – CARSOME Group’s education arm, CARSOME Academy, has been recognised with the Industry Upskilling Excellence Award at the Malaysia Education & TVET Awards 2026 yesterday, marking its second consecutive year of recognition at the awards. This follows its TVET Centre of Excellence Award (Automotive Technical Education) win in 2025, highlighting the Academy’s continued contribution to automotive skills and industry upskilling.

Organised by Education + TVET Asia, the award recognises education and TVET institutions that demonstrate excellence in developing industry-ready talent. The recognition also reflects CARSOME Academy’s continued contribution to Malaysia’s TVET agenda by equipping Malaysians with practical skills and industry exposure to support the country’s growing need for a highly skilled workforce.

Teoh Jiun Ee, CARSOME Group Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CARSOME Academy, accepts the Industry Upskilling Excellence Award at the Malaysia Education & TVET Awards 2026.

“Over the past year, we have continued to evolve CARSOME Academy alongside the needs of the automotive industry. Last year, we were recognised for our work in Automotive Technical Education, and this year’s Industry Upskilling Excellence Award reflects our focus on ensuring that the skills we provide remain relevant as the industry changes,” said Teoh Jiun Ee, CARSOME Group Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CARSOME Academy

“As the sector evolves, particularly with the growth of electric vehicles (EVs) and new technologies, we want to make sure our students and industry professionals are equipped with the practical skills and confidence they need to succeed. Ultimately, our goal is to strengthen the pathway between education and employment and make TVET a meaningful route into the automotive industry.”

Beyond technical training, CARSOME Academy continues to expand its programmes to meet evolving industry needs, including EV training and certification, Modern Vehicle Diagnostics, and Certified Sales Professional programmes. The Academy also offers Car Care 101 and road safety education to build broader automotive knowledge and awareness.

Through scholarships, financial aid, and partnerships with organisations, including Yayasan Hasanah, Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor and Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor, the Academy also works to make technical education more accessible to students and underserved communities.

Since its establishment in 2021, CARSOME Academy has trained and certified more than 500 students and 8,000 employees, with a 95% employment rate among graduates, securing employment within three months of graduation. 90% of its students come from B40 and underserved backgrounds, demonstrating the role of TVET in creating accessible pathways to employment and supporting inclusive economic opportunities.
